New Consultant Kit and Sneak Peek

One of the advantages of being a CTMH consultant is getting a sneak peek at new items before anyone else.  Below is a picture of the new consultant kit available Jan 1st.  It is $99 and has over $300 worth of product in it plus it is a peek at a new paper pack in the new catalog that won't be available to customers until Feb 1st.  Check out my blog for future sneak peeks of an upcoming Card kit available in January.  You'll be on "Cloud Nine" when you see it.

Wrapping with Washi

Oh yes she did!  I wrapped Christmas presents and used washi tape as well - - tape!  Works perfectly.  And what are you going to use all that Washi tape for anyway?  I also downloaded this months Rediscover CTMH holiday tags.  I printed them on white daisy card stock after shrinking them to a smaller size.  These are my sister's Christmas presents - I hope she likes them!
Download your own tags here and get some Washi Tape for yourself here.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here is a Pumpkin card holder I made with my BFF and her daughter.  We cut the pumpkin using the Cricut, ran it through an embossing folder in the Cuttlebug and then made 3 little 3 x 3 cards to tuck inside.  We had fun.

Retiring Items

Close to my Heart is getting ready for a new idea book come February 1st.  Yay!  BUT, when they introduce new items they have to retire some items.  As soon as an item is placed on the retiring list it is available on a while-supplies-last basis.  If you want to see the retiring items just click on the Retiring Tab at the top and it will take you to that page on my shopping web site.  The items on this list will NOT be carried forward in the new idea book.
Note:  Any stamp sets that are shown in the Autumn/Winter 2013 book will also be available in the Spring/Summer 2014 book.

Holiday Card Workshop - Day 4

Day 4 of the Holiday Card Workshop had us stamp and then emboss over the stamping.  Actually you can do the embossing first if you want and then stamp over it.  I used some of last year's CTMH Christmas paper and this years Frosted Card Workshop stamp set. I added a little gold ribbon from my stash.  You can try this technique yourself.  All you need is some Versamark ink and some embossing powder.  Our embossing powder is being discontinued so get some now.  Check out all the items that will discontinue at the end of January or while supplies last HERE.

Clearly the Best: Wacky Washi

Here is another video from CTMH showing how to use Washi Tape to make a cute card.  And I can tell you it works!  Below is my version of the cupcake card they made.  Watch the video for instructions.  Want to order your own?  Click here - but the cute pink polka dot is only available until the end of January or until they run out.

Holiday Card Workshop - Day 2

I'm behind on my homework!  This card is an attempt to make one of the card from Day 2.  The instructor showed us how to emboss snowflakes and suspend them on fishing wire. I used one strand of silver embroidery thread instead.  The snow flakes sort of spin on the card.  I cut the snow flakes on my cricut and used silver embossing powder.  The back of the window is lined with some Sparkle & Shine paper.

Holiday Card Workshop - Day 3

Here is my attempt at one of the cards from Day 3 of the Holiday Card Workshop.  I used an old stamp set called December Word Puzzle.  The little trees were perfect for lining up on the diagonal.  I used some Sparkle & Shine paper and Ruby, Olive and Slate ink.

Why Switch to CTMH?

Holiday Card Workshop - Day 1

I'm taking an on line Holiday Card Workshop through a web site called Online Card Classes.  I've never done anything like this and hope I can keep up with the "homework" assignments.  Our first class was all about dressing up the inside of your card.  Here is my example of making a gift card holder on the inside sealed up with washi tape.  I used our stamp set Wintery Wishes - a hostess only stamp set for the sentiment and the little penguin image, white pigment ink, Sparkle & Shine Washi tape and kraft paper.  You can shop HERE for your supplies.
Here is how to make your own gift card pocket for the inside of your Christmas cards:  Take a 5 x 4 piece of vellum, score along the long side at 2 1/2.  Fold in half and crease using a bone folder.  Make a small mark at the center point of the long side and use a 1/2 inch circle punch to punch a notch.  Apply washi tape along the open sides and the bottom of the pocket.  Trim the excess washi.  Attach to the inside of your card by applying a thin line of Liquid Glass along the washi tape on the back side of the pocket.    Let dry completely and insert gift card!

Rediscover Close To My Heart

This month's free download is a chalkboard wall art.  I decided to print it out smaller and make a card out of it.  I thought the Juniper Sparkle & Shine paper matched just perfectly.  I add some yellow bakers twine too.  If you want your own free download just click HERE.  While you are there check out all the other things CTMH offers.

Washi Wonder Birthday Cards

I got inspiration for these two card from a fellow consultant .  She made a Christmas card but I needed birthday cards.  I used the mini stamp Heartfelt Birthday Wish and the stamp set Washi Wonder that is only available to hostesses.  These cards are for two special sisters that both have birthdays in November.

Mojo Monday - Rose Blossom Garden Challenge - Huntington Card

I'm playing along with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.  I used the Huntington Paper pack and some color ready seam binding ribbon that I dyed Autumn Terracotta to match the papers.  I am also playing along  with Rose Blossom Garden Challenge Blog.  This month the challenge is to use the "I" key on the Artbooking cart with a Halloween theme.  Halloween makes me think of pumpkins so I used that image from the Icon key.  I stamped the pumpkin using a retired stamp set called So Grateful.

World Cardmaking Day

Today is World Cardmaking Day.  Have you made a card yet?  There is still time.  Here is one of the cards I made today.  I got my inspiration from a sketch I saw on the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog.   The cute banners can be downloaded from my web site.  I printed them on white copy paper but you could print them on white cardstock too.  There are about 17 different colors of banners on the one sheet. You could used them for cupcake flags or cut them up and use them on a card.  You could also stamp on top of them.  Click HERE to download your own copy.  The sentiment is from the triple stamp set "You Are My Happy" that was only available in September.

Secret Sister Items

A friend of mine runs cross country for a local high school. She has a secret sister that she needs to give a little something to at each meet. These are some of the gifty items we came up with. We used a lot of the retired Dream Pop paper packet and of course the Cricut to cut these fun items out.  I hope her secret sister likes them.

Rose Blossom Garden Challenge - Artbooking "Z" Key

I'm playing along with the Rose Blossom Garden Challenge blog this week.  Brenda has challenged us to make something with a School Theme or use the Artbooking "Z" Key.  I decided to make a card using the Sarita paper packet.  I also used some Sarita fabric on my card.  I love the Hello badge on the "Z" key and decided to use that as my focal point.  I used the Alphabet set from the National Stamping Month special - You are My Happy - to stamp "friend".  Thanks for looking and check out Brenda's other blog too:  Rose Blossom Legacies .

Top Secret Card with QR codes

Thanks to inspiration from the AWESOME Tresa Black and the post she did about QR codes.  I used her idea to make these two Top Secret cards with QR codes in them.

I used my new Artbooking Cricut Cartridge to make these cute cards shaped like file folders. I used the web site GOQR.ME to make the QR code. When the recipient scans the code with their smart phone they will get a personalized birthday message that I wrote.
