Rose Blossom Garden Challenge - Birthday Boy Key

I wanted to play along with the challenge over at Rose Blossom Challenge Blog.  This week we were challenged to use the "Birthday Boy" key.  And boy was it a challenge.  It took me a while to come up with something.  I started by cutting all the lunar shapes out of black cardstock at 1 1/4 inches.  I knew I wanted to use some Dream Pop paper too. I looked on the Freshly Made Sketches blog for a sketch and used sketch #13.  I added a little black trim to the top using my pinking scissors.  The lunar shapes are popped off the squares.  Inside I'll write the sentiment "You're Out of this World".  Thanks for looking.  You should play along too!

Just for You Birthday Card

I got the inspiration for this birthday card from a fellow CTMH consultant Here.  She used the Clair paper pack but since I didn't have that I decided to use For Always paper, glitter paper and some Lagoon card stock and ink.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is stamped with retired stamp set.

Birthday Queen

I saw a VERY expensive card in an airport this summer just like this.  I knew I could recreate it with the Cricut.  When we came out with glitter paper I just HAD to try it.  The Tiara was cut at 1/2 inch from page 69 of the Artiste cartridge.  The star is cut at 1/2 inch also from page 40 of the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I blinged it up with pink and purple sparkles. I colored the star with the  Ruby marker.  The inside of the purple card says "May your reign never end!" and the pink card says "Rule your day!".

Want your own glitter paper?  You can get it with the National Papercrafting Month kit - Whooo’s Your Valentine .  Click HERE to order.

Birthday Card for a special lady

I made this 5 x 7 birthday card for someone special who is turning 80 next Friday.  I didn't want to put any numbers on the card because because a lady never wants to be reminded of her age.

I used the new Silver Shimmer trim ribbon on the outside and inside.  A few cricut cuts, some embossing with the cuttle bug, some bling, some Glitz Glitter Gel, sparkly pink ribbon and of course the beautiful Lucy paper.  I am entering this card in this weeks challenge over at H2H Challeng Blog . They are challenging you to GO BIG and make a card bigger that the usual A2 card size (4.5 x 5.25).

Thanks for looking.
